MLK Day Events in Toledo

By Ann Baisden January 7, 2018

Martin Luther King Jr day is January 15, and it's the first 3 day weekend of the New Year for the kids, but doesn't it seem like they just went BACK to school after 2 weeks off?!  The good news is that just because the kids won't be at school, doesn't mean they have to be bored at home.

Imagination Station will be buzzing the weekend of MLK day.  It's the last weekend of the Dinosaurs Around The World exhibit.  If you haven't experienced Dinosaurs Around The World yet, you don't want to miss this one-of-a-kind adventure.  Also, for the 3-day weekend, Imagination Station will be hosting the Extreme Ice Extravaganza.  Each day of the holiday weekend will be different activities, demonstrations, and experiences.  On Saturday, you can check out live ice carving demonstrations, presented by Ice Creations.  On Sunday, meet special guests, The Winter Sisters! The Snow Queen and Ana will perform a special show in our Extreme Science Theater followed by a meet and greet. Presented by, Laurel's Princess Parties, LLC.  Imagination Station is usually closed on Mondays, but on January 15, the science center will be open from 10 am - 5 pm,  for families to enjoy their favorite activities and exhibits.

On January 15, Toledo Zoo is hosting kids ages 5-12 for Zoo Camp for a Day.  From 9 am-4 pm, on Monday, January 15, "campers" will explore all about animals and the homes they live in. From up in the trees to down in the river, animals make homes everywhere! Pre-registration is required, and you can get more info here.

Hero's The Party Experience will be open from 11 am - 2 pm, on January 15, for open play.  For $10 per child, Hero's offers inflatables, laser tag, and a toddler area.  Snacks will be offered for purchase as well.  No need for reservations.
